USA Supply Routes to Afghanistan

End of July, Marc Grossman, U.S. Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan  visited Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. The visit in the region continued with Pakistan where he met the Pakistani president and participated in a trilateral summit on the Afghan war. Grossman inrends to reinforce agreements with Russia on the expanded use of transport routes for NATO supplies that run through Central Asia. The ability to move more cargo along these routes will strengthen the United States’ position relative to Pakistan in their upcoming summit.
