Pakistan gave China access to the downed US helicopter


Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence gave China access to the downed helicopter in Abbottabad. Chinese engineers were allowed to survey the wreckage, take photographs and take samples of the stealth technology that allowed the U.S. team to enter Pakistan undetected by radar. Both Gen. Ashfaq Kayani, head of the Pakistani military, and another unnamed senior Pakistani official denied that the Chinese were given access.

US drones kill 21 insurgents in Pakistan

US drones on 10.08.2011 killed at least 21 Haqqani insurgents in a tribal area North-Western Pakistan. The attack was confirmed by local security officials.

Pakistan navy officers court martialed

Three senior Pakistan Navy officers will be court martialed following the May attack on a naval air base in Karachi. This is one of the few cases when representatives of the military establishment of Pakistan are prosecuted.

Pakistan imposed restrictions against US diplomats might be removed


Travel restrictions imposed by Islamabad on U.S. diplomats may be revised following the latest negotiations between the United States and Pakistan.  Limitations were enforced following the latest strain in ties that have worsened since the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Attacks of the US drones against rebels in Pakistan continued on 02.08.2011 with four presumably dead in a tribal region in the North-Eastern part of the Asian country.
